Aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage business owners across Dorset are invited to come along to a Start-Up Business Breakfast event, designed to inspire, inform and support local people at the beginning of their business journey.
There’s a choice of two free events taking place:
- Thursday 5 February: 08.00-11.00 at Starfish Enterprise, 20 King Street, Weymouth DT4 7BJ
- Thursday 12 March: 08.00-11.00 at Hinton Workspace, Builder’s Yard, Hinton St Mary, Sturminster Newton DT10 1NA
The informal morning events are being delivered by business advisory firm Evolve, in partnership with Dorset Council, and are open to anyone living in the Dorset Council area who is considering starting a business, or are within their first three years of trading.
The aim of the breakfast events is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where founders can connect with like-minded people, hear honest experiences from local business owners, and gain practical insight into funding, networks and support available to them locally.
Attendees will enjoy breakfast while hearing from fellow entrepreneurs who have successfully overcome the challenges of their early trading years – sharing what worked, what didn’t and the lessons they wish they’d known sooner. The sessions will also highlight local sources of finance, business support programmes and next steps for anyone keen to turn an idea into reality or build momentum in their existing start-up.
David Mutton, Business Advisor at Evolve, said:
“Starting a business can feel very exciting, but daunting at the same time. These breakfast events are about creating a relaxed, supportive space where people can ask questions, hear real stories and realise they’re not alone in the challenges they’re facing.
“Dorset has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and we’re proud to be working with Dorset Council to help local start-ups take their first steps, confidently.”
The Start Up Business Breakfast is ideal for people exploring a new business idea, founders in their first three years of trading, and anyone looking to connect and network with others on a similar journey.
The event is free to attend, thanks to funding from Dorset Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, but places are limited and advance registration is required.
